Days of Work: Monday - Friday

Job Description
As a Class 1 Relief / Tramper driver, you will be responsible for making bulk collections and deliveries between various DPD sites and customers nationwide. You will operate modern fleet vehicles on an agreed shift pattern, delivering palette loads to HGV-friendly locations.
Key responsibilities include:
Execute long-distance driving assignments, covering a minimum of four nights per week.
Adhere strictly to all road safety regulations and maintain compliance with UK driving laws.
Efficiently manage and operate modern fleet vehicles, ensuring their optimal performance and maintenance.
Conduct thorough pre-trip inspections of vehicles to ensure roadworthiness and safety.
Accurately complete and maintain all required documentation, including delivery receipts and logbooks.
Utilise digital tachograph equipment correctly and in accordance with regulations.
Perform loading and unloading of trailers as required, adhering to proper handling procedures.
Maintain a high standard of professionalism when interacting with customers and representing DPD.
Promptly report any incidents, accidents, or vehicle issues to the appropriate personnel.
Consistently meet delivery deadlines while prioritising safety and compliance.
Demonstrate flexibility in adapting to changing route assignments and schedules.
Utilise secure overnight parking facilities provided by the company.
Maintain clear communication with dispatch and other relevant departments.
Uphold the highest standards of customer service in all interactions.
Actively participate in any required training or professional development programmes.
This role demands a high level of responsibility, attention to detail, and commitment to safety and customer service. Successful candidates must be prepared for the physical and mental demands of long-distance driving and extended periods away from home.
Qualifications
Essential Qualifications:
Valid UK Class 1 Driving Licence
Minimum of 12 months Class 1 driving experience
Valid UK Certificate of Professional Competence (CPC) Card
Valid UK Digital Tachograph Card
Demonstrated ability to load and unload trailers as required
