Academics are seeking a motivated and enthusiastic Learning Support Assistant to join the team at a flourishing Secondary school in Colchester, Essex from October 2024 until at least July 2025.

This opportunity offers a long-term role until July 2025, with the potential for a permanent contract for the successful candidate.

You will benefit from various travel connections, support from an incredible SLT, and CPD opportunities to help you become the best version of yourself!

Responsibilities:

Support learners in small groups or on a one-to-one basis

Help maintain a safe and inclusive learning environment

Monitor and record progress of learners, providing feedback to teachers and parents

Assist in planning and delivering lessons, while supporting the class teacher to ensure productive and engaging lessons.

Carrying out administrative tasks

The role involves working with students aged 11-16 in small groups or individually to improve their engagement with learning.

Support may be provided to students with Special Educational Needs/Disabilities (SEND) or Social, Emotional, Mental Health needs (SEMH).

The successful candidate will:

Have drive and determination

Deal with situations calmly and sensitively
