Job Description
Lead Teacher of Physics position
Hays Education are working in partnership with an Ofsted 'Good' secondary school based just outside Derby. Due to the appointment of the new Curriculum Lead from their science department, it has meant a subsequent restructure of the team. This means the science department are excited to be expanding and are now looking for a Lead Teacher of Physics to join their team. To be successful, you will have a broad range of experience teaching Physics in secondary schools up to GCSE. KS5 experience is desirable but not essential.

Job description:
- Collaborate with the Curriculum Leader to deliver an ambitious and engaging KS3/4 Physics curriculum.
- Assist the curriculum leader by assessing and enhancing teaching and learning standards through various methods, including lesson observations with constructive feedback.
- Provide mentorship to Early Career Teachers (ECTs) and trainee teachers.
- Delivering engaging and creative science lessons to students.
- Planning and preparing schemes of work, lesson plans, and assessments.
- Monitoring student progress and providing feedback.
Requirements:
- Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) or equivalent. ECT's welcome to apply.
- Bachelor's degree in Physics or a related field.
- Recent experience teaching science at secondary school level.
- Strong behaviour/classroom management.
- Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
