Job Description

Our Transformation and Technology Directorate is a hub of innovation, and we are seeking passionate individuals to join our dynamic Software Development Practice a community of over 100 developers dedicated to continuous learning, collaboration, and career advancement.

The Role:

As a Junior Software Developer, you will:

  • Develop Your Skills: Work under supervision to deliver software components within a multidisciplinary team.
  • Engage in Testing: Understand and become proficient in various types of testing methodologies.
  • Contribute to Security: Be aware of security practices and contribute to protecting solutions and services.

Main Duties:

  • Actively participate and contribute to the developer community.
  • Continuously improve the quality of software and systems produced.
  • Develop your skills and knowledge through agreed personal development activities.
  • Follow industry best practices aligned with HMLR standards and approved technologies.
  • Identify and implement optimizations to the development process.
  • Learn and understand legacy technology and systems as required.
  • Gain insights into Land Registry operations, including casework and register data.

About You:

To be eligible for this placement, you must:

  • Have completed the second year of a relevant IT-related degree program by September 2025 and be seeking a placement year in the industry before finishing your degree.
  • Possess technical skills in:
    • Frontend web technologies
    • Operating systems and environments
    • Programming languages
    • Relational databases
