Job Description

Hays is partnering with a local council to recruit some interim Job Evaluation roles. We are seeking experienced professionals with a deep understanding of the NJC Job Evaluation methodology, specifically using the Gauge system.

Key Responsibilities

  • Demonstrate flexibility around the application of the methodology to ensure local conventions are adhered to.
  • Significant and recent NJC Job Evaluation evaluating experience using the NJC Gauge system in a local authority or public organisation.
  • Good experience of acting as a Senior Job Analyst overseeing the work of Job Analysts/Evaluators and supporting/training where required.
  • Experience of moderating job evaluation outcomes and presenting to senior teams.
  • The ability to build good relationships with colleagues across the organisation at senior level, including Corporate Directors, Assistant Directors, Heads of Service and other Senior Managers.
  • The ability to see and overcome challenges in the Job Evaluation environment.
  • Experience of working in a Local Authority environment and comfortable working alongside senior colleagues in the organisation
  • Comfortable working with Trade Unions involved in the project and ability to challenge where required.
