Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity now available with one of our sector-leading financial services clients! They are currently looking for a skilled Java Developer to join their team for a twelve-month contract.

Required Skills/Experience
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Experience in software development using Java and related technologies.
2. Excellent knowledge and hands-on experience with Core Java, Spring framework, JDBC and API development.
3. Exceptional debugging skills to understand existing implementations and troubleshoot issues in timely manner.
4. Good knowhow about Java Stream APIs.
5. Should have good understanding of Database design with ability to write complex SQL queries.
6. Good knowledge about various operating systems like Unix/Linux and Windows.
7. Sound understanding about various Scripting languages like Perl, Python and Shell.
8. Expertise in working on technology migration projects and flexibility to work on different technologies as per project requirements.
9. Experience working in agile environment and strong understanding of system development life cycle.
10. Good knowledge on Release, Deployment and Change management process.
11. Experience with CI and build tools such as TeamCity, Jenkins, Nolio.
12. Good understanding of SCM tools like GIT, JIRA etc.
13. Knowledge about docker/containerization would be an added advantage.
14. Ability to understand, analyse & document complex processes, features and stories.
15. Demonstrated ability to communicate technical solutions clearly to management, business users, business analysts/data analysts and technology teams.

Desirable Skills/Experience
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Knowledge of the Compliance/Financial Crime domain will be a strong advantage.
2. Data analytical skills with ability to identify data gaps.
3. Experience with Agile methodologies.
4. Ability to identify issues and risks with projects which may impact delivery timelines; and cognizance to escalate issues with vendors/management as required.
5. Extremely organized, excellent oral and written communication skills, particularly in documenting system architectures and workflows.
6. Highly self-motivated with a confidence do the right thing attitude.
7. Excellent attention to detail, self-starter with demonstrable initiative.
8. Team player, co-operative, and able to work in a large team across multiple locations and time zones.
9. Ability to work independently, multi-task, and deliver results.
