Job Description

Now we are seeking and Apprentice ICT Support Technician to assist Corporate IT staff in providing ICT services to all of the Council's service Departments.

Overview: You will have the opportunity to gain valuable skills, knowledge and experience as you complete an IT systems and networking - Azure Cloud Support Specialist - Level 3 Apprenticeship.

Salary: First year - £19,747 per annum. After first year completed, depending on performance - £24,684 per annum.

Primary responsibilities will be to:

  • Record and analyse any IT incidents or requests
  • Troubleshoot and resolve assigned IT related incidents
  • Ensure customers are dealt with in a speedy, efficient and courteous manner
  • Progress requests for new hardware and software, or equipment moves
  • Build and/or configure hardware equipment
  • Install and configure software to meet customer requirements
  • Ensure all hardware assets are appropriately badged
  • Maintain accurate records of work completed

  • Good basic IT knowledge

Entry requirements:

  • 3 GCSE's (or equivalent) at grades 4+ (A-C) in any subject
  • GCSE Maths and English (or equivalents) at grades 3+ (D or above)
  • Prospective apprentices must not hold an existing qualification at the same or higher level as this apprenticeship is in a similar subject.

You may also have a combination of qualifications and experience which demonstrate the minimum foundation needed for the programme. In this instance you could still be considered for the programme.

Working week: 36hrs per week.
