IT Programme Manager - London
One off the UK's leading retail entertainment companies (household name brand) is going through a period of technology transformation and requires an IT Program Manager to help lead the initiative.
The Programme Manager will take ownership of multiple interconnected projects and initiatives, driving strategic programmes that will enhance operational capabilities and customer experience. This role involves leading complex programmes from initiation to completion, ensuring alignment with business goals and delivering measurable value.
Key Accountabilities
- Lead the programme, defining, managing, and delivering a portfolio of projects, delivering value to the group
- Work closely with senior leadership to align programmes with business objectives and key performance indicators and performance goals
- Establish and maintain robust governance structures to ensure the programme delivery meets time, cost, and quality expectations
- Ensure risk, issue, assumption & dependency management is in place to Identify, monitor, and mitigate items across multiple projects
- Provide financial oversight, managing programme budgets, forecasts, and financial reporting, ensuring value for money and alignment with business goals
- Provide leadership and direction to project managers and cross-functional teams, fostering collaboration and accountability
- Drive a culture of continuous improvement adopting emergent practices to enhance programme delivery and operational outcomes
- Ensure programmes deliver tangible improvements in customer experience and operational efficiency, with a relentless focus on improved business performance
- Helps build and sustaining an integrated, diverse and high performing team that anticipates and responds to the needs of the organisation and key stakeholders
- Coaching and mentoring of the wider delivery team assisting with their ongoing development and effectiveness in supporting project delivery
- Works to build a high level of collaboration across the IT delivery capability working with the PMO and business analysis functions to foster a culture of continuous improvement
- Helps drive a culture of personal accountability and psychological safety, where mistakes are owned and learned from
- Identify inefficiencies and recommend optimizations across the delivery portfolio
- Stay abreast of industry trends to ensure tools and methodologies remain cutting-edge
Required Skills
- Extensive experience in programme management, delivering complex, multi-project programmes in customer-focused industries such as retail, entertainment, or hospitality
- Relevant certifications, such as MSP (Managing Successful Programmes) or PgMP (Programme Management Professional) are desirable
- Strong understanding of modern delivery methodologies and expertise in programme governance
- Exceptional stakeholder engagement and communication skills, with a proven ability to influence at executive levels
- Proficiency in programme management tools, including Jira, Confluence, and MS Project
- Solid understanding of IT systems, infrastructure, and customer-facing solutions (eg, CRM, POS, ERP)
- Strong financial acumen, with experience managing multimillion-pound budgets
- Solid evidence of delivering change within an organisation
- A business partner with a diplomatic, yet tenacious approach
- A second language (German or Italian) is highly desirable
This position offers a salary up to £100K + car allowance + bonus + package. The base location is West London with 4 days a week in the office and Friday WFH.
