Internal Communications and Administrative Officer
We are seeking to recruit an Internal Communications and Administrative Officer to collaborate with the head of DCD and stakeholders to create internal communications, support website maintenance, provide programmatic and organizational support for departmental activities, and manage financial administration related to these programs.
Your duties will include:
- Support the Head of Department with the development of the internal communication strategy to effectively communicate key messages and initiatives to colleagues and students.
- Manage internal communication channels, including intranet and newsletters, ensuring consistent and timely delivery of information.
- Organise employee townhalls in collaboration with colleagues in DCD and in consultation with the Director's Office.
- Write, edit, and proofread internal communications materials such as newsletters, memos, and blogs.
- Prepare and submit purchase orders for all expenses incurred within the department
Your qualities/skills:
- A degree in Communications, Business Administration, or a related discipline, or equivalent experience.
- Experience of managing a variety of stakeholders internally and externally.
- Strong digital skills including project management tools with the ability to juggle multiple priorities and competing demands.
- Good organisational skills with the ability to prioritise and manage a varied workload, to high quality standards and tight deadlines.
- Ability to handle sensitive and confidential information with complete discretion and integrity.

The salary for this role is £32,290 and is a grade 4.
