Job Description

We are looking for an Impact Investment Associate with a genuine interest in impact investing, to support our dual purpose to create profitable investment opportunities and deliver demonstrable positive impact across the three core areas of our investment activity: Housing, Net Zero and Community Impact.

The role sits within finance and operations, and you will work in close partnership with the investment teams. It s a hands-on role where you will be producing case studies, written reports, and presentations, to demonstrate and raise awareness of the impact of our work. You will be responsible for measuring the impact of our investment activity and reporting on impact performance, and you will support with the design and implementation of impact frameworks for new funds, working with internal and external specialists to ensure that best practice is embedded in our impact approach. This is a unique position where you ll get to play a part in a scale-up business with impact at its heart.

About You

You will be responsible for measuring, monitoring, and reporting on impact to our investors and stakeholders, so attention to detail and intellectual rigour are important. Technical knowledge, experience of impact measurement, and a passion for impactful finance are all equally relevant.

You ll have excellent written communication and presentation skills, with the ability to write narrative and prepare reports in a variety of formats. You ll also need to be an effective communicator and people-person as you will be working with teams across business areas and with external stakeholders. Equally critical are good analytical skills with the ability to work with data to communicate trends and messages. This includes the ability to work with formulas and charts in Excel.

Working for a small growing company, we ll need you to be resourceful and proactive, and able to adapt to our changing needs and processes as the business evolves. Ideally, you ll have worked in a small or expanding business, have a growth mindset and be keen to learn and adapt. We can support you with training, but you will also need to be comfortable using your initiative and working independently.

We are looking for someone with at least 2 years relevant work experience in areas such as impact investment, impact reporting, communications, sustainable finance, ethical lending, ESG consulting, grant-making, social housing, not-for-profits, social enterprise, or the public sector. You will probably have some formal or professional training in a relevant area such as finance, economics, business, marketing, or communications.
