Job Title: Financial Inclusion officer (Housing Benefit Officer)Location: London Borough of Harrow, Forward Drive, Harrow, HA3 8NTEmployer: Pertemps Recruitment Partnership for London Borough of HarrowContract Type: Temporary (3 months ongoing)Hours of Work: Monday - Friday, 09:00 - 17:00Working Arrangements: Hybrid (2-3 days per week in the office)Overview of the Role:Pertemps is seeking a motivated and self-driven Financial Inclusion officer (Housing Benefit Officer) to join the expanding team at the London Borough of Harrow. This temporary role offers a competitive pay rate of up to £19.77 per hour, excellent training, career development support, and 21 days of holiday (excluding Bank Holidays).Main Purpose of a Financial Inclusion Officer (Housing Benefit Officer):
- Provide comprehensive support and interventions to tenants at risk of financial exclusion.
- Manage programs related to affordable credit, combating loan sharks, and collaborating with banks, credit unions, and providers of financial products like home insurance, fuel poverty solutions, and basic bank accounts.
- Identify and apply for funding to increase resources and support projects or initiatives that leverage available opportunities.
- Conduct home visits and personal consultations to perform financial capability assessments, income/benefit maximization reviews, and develop tailored action/support plans to achieve successful outcomes.
- Utilize IT systems to prepare and analyze statistical and performance information, demonstrating achieved results, and take corrective actions to meet set targets.
- In-depth knowledge and practical experience with financial and digital inclusion initiatives, products, and services.
- Experience working in a social housing setting or an understanding of the needs and challenges faced by vulnerable or disadvantaged tenants at risk of financial exclusion.
- Strong understanding of housing and welfare benefits, Universal Credit, relevant legislation, policies, and issues related to income maximization and debt prevention.
- Experience in project management and successful funding applications.
- Knowledge of financial and banking regulations.
- High level of numeracy and literacy.
