About the Organisation
Our client provides support and information to people living with degenerative brain diseases. These rapidly progressing neurological conditions are caused by the premature loss of nerve cells in certain parts of the brain, and like many other chronic conditions, there is currently no cure. However, many of the symptoms can be managed, and our client's mission is to provide everyone affected with degenerative brain diseases with information and support to enable them to lead the best possible life they can.
They also fund research into diagnosis and treatments, relying almost entirely on voluntary donations.
They are now looking for a Helpline Care Navigator to join them on a part-time, permanent basis, working 28 hours per week.

The Role
As a Helpline Care Navigator, you will provide essential information and support to individuals affected by degenerative brain diseases in Scotland.
Acting as the first point of contact for sufferers, you will respond to enquiries via phone, email, and other channels, offering tailored information and signposting individuals to relevant support services.
You will also seek to raise awareness of degenerative brain diseases within health and social care across Scotland, providing briefings and education sessions and attending neurology clinics to support with knowledge sharing and expertise.
Additionally, you will:
- Keep detailed records and engage proactively with individuals
- Identify ways to improve care and services for families affected by these conditions
As part of your role, you will be expected to attend our client's Milton Keynes office once a month.
About You
To be considered as a Helpline Care Navigator, you will need:
- Experience delivering helpline and/or information and support services
- The ability to keep accurate records
- Experience of communicating with audiences from a range of backgrounds
- The ability to manage difficult questions, emotions, and situations calmly and confidently
