We provide free specialist care and support to patients with terminal illnesses whilst offering vital emotional support for their families. It's all about giving them the best possible quality of life. The support we offer is tailored to meet individuals' medical, social, spiritual and emotional needs.

We are looking to bring onboard a person-centred healthcare assistant to join the multidisciplinary community-based team at West Midlands to support providing holistic, person centred, end of life care to patients and those important to them.

As a Healthcare Assistant you will practice empathetic communication with the patient and those important to them in a supportive, professional manner and provide high quality personal care and support to enhance wellbeing

Job Structure: Full Time/Part Time

Job Schedule: Day Shifts

Location: Community Based - Hospice at Home

What we're looking for:

  • National Vocational Qualification Level 3 in Health and Social Care or an acceptable alternative qualification.
  • A minimum of six months of recent care delivery experience in a Health or Social Care Environment providing care and caring for dying patients.
  • Be person-centred and compassionate when caring for the person and those important to them.
  • Ability to develop and evaluate care management plans alongside other healthcare professionals that meets the complex needs of the person, and those important to them.
  • Thorough understanding of the physical, psychological, social, and spiritual domains of palliative care.
  • Proven understanding the barriers and enablers to good communication and how challenges can be overcome.
  • Maintain regulatory registration requirements or any national professional or occupational standards associated with the role.
