Introduction

The Houses of Parliament Health & Wellbeing Service supports Parliament in developing a healthy working environment and encouraging people to have a positive attitude to health at work.

The Role

We are looking for an individual who has the skills to organise and promote our events programme to colleagues across our diverse Parliamentary Community. The individual will also have responsibility for supporting and developing our Health & Wellbeing Champion and Mental Health First Aider networks.

Some of the responsibilities for this role include:

  • Co-ordination and delivery of events on our annual wellbeing programme; presenting at town halls and team meetings to promote PHWS services and events.
  • Production of monthly newsletters using email marketing platform mailchimp.
  • Administrative support for Mental Health First Aid and Health & Wellbeing Champion networks.
  • Managing and development of Health Kiosk provision across the Estate.
  • Budgetary control for wellbeing events

Skills and Experience

To be successful in this role you will demonstrate:

  • Qualification or equivalent experience in marketing and communications delivery with a proven track record of organising, delivering and facilitating events to both in person and remote audience.
  • Excellent written and verbal communications skills, including confident presenting skills and the proven ability to adapt and deliver messages for different audiences using a variety of different mediums, e.g. production of newsletters; newsletter articles, blogs.
  • Advanced skills in Microsoft Office 365 (e.g. Outlook, Teams, SharePoint, Excel; Forms); including proficiency in the use of PowerPoint and Sway to produce engaging and creative content. Knowledge/understanding of updating website content (training on the Parliamentary intranet system will be provided).
  • Excellent customer services skills, including the confidence and ability to work collaboratively with a wide range of stakeholders and third-party providers whilst upholding the values of equality, diversity and inclusion.
  • Demonstration of ability to analyse and interpret data, producing management reports to reflect findings and delivering data insights simply and clearly to all levels of the organisation.
  • Self-starter with excellent organisational skills and ability to prioritise key tasks with minimal supervision to agreed timescales and deadlines.
