Head of Spanish Teacher - Permanent Position
Location: Tunbridge Wells, Kent
Start Date: January 2024

We are seeking a dynamic and passionate Head of Spanish to join a well-established school in Tunbridge Wells on a permanent basis, starting in January 2024. This is an exciting opportunity to lead and inspire a thriving Modern Foreign Languages department, fostering a love for Spanish among students and guiding them to achieve their full potential.



Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, develop, and manage the Spanish department, ensuring high standards of teaching and learning.
  • Design and implement a curriculum that inspires and challenges students of all abilities.
  • Support and mentor colleagues within the department, promoting a collaborative and innovative teaching environment.
  • Monitor and evaluate student progress, implementing effective strategies to enhance outcomes.
  • Be an active member of the school's leadership team, contributing to the strategic direction and development of the school.


The Ideal Candidate:

  • A qualified teacher with QTS and a degree in Spanish or a related field.
  • Proven experience teaching Spanish at both Key Stage 3 and 4 (Key Stage 5 experience is desirable).
  • Strong leadership skills with the ability to motivate and develop staff.
  • A passion for languages and a commitment to promoting cultural awareness.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
