About the Organisation:
Our client is a dynamic charity with an annual income of just over £4 million, dedicated to promoting health and activity through sport. The majority of their funding comes from the government, supporting various mission-driven programmes. The organisation has a small finance team of two including the Head of Finance and Finance Officer.
The Role:
We are supporting our client in recruiting a proactive and enthusiastic Head of Finance for a 12-month fixed term. In this role, you will manage the day-to-day financial operations and drive improvements in financial processes. You will ensure the organisation maximises the use of its systems and fosters regular budget holder meetings.
Key Responsibilities:
- Oversee the year-end process, annual budget setting, and external audits.
- Produce monthly management accounts, reports, and variance analysis.
- Manage grants, funder budgets, and reporting requirements; contribute to tender production.
- Collaborate with the COO on reporting for the Finance Sub Committee (FSC), Board, Strategy Implementation and Impact Sub Committee (SIISC), and Senior Leadership Team.
- Deputise for the COO as needed.
- Modernise internal processes and procedures, identifying areas for improvement and efficiency.
- Provide budget holders with the financial information needed to effectively deliver their work.
- Qualified accountant with a passion for driving positive change.
- Ability to lead on financial planning, including developing a 3-5 year financial strategy.

- Salary: £55,000 - £60,000
