A new opportunity has arisen for a Group Financial Controller to join the University's Finance team.

In this senior role within the Finance Leadership team, reporting to the Executive Director of Finance, you will provide leadership, management, and delivery of the central Finance function of circa 200 staff.

This will encompass financial accounting, accounts payable and receivable, credit control, tax and treasury, pay and pensions, finance systems and management accounts reporting functions.

Utilising your significant experience and leadership abilities, you will ensure that these functions deliver significant value to the University, offering an excellent service, and helping to shape and deliver the University's strategic goals and objectives.

You will also provide trusted and insightful financial and management reporting to drive the execution of the University strategy and ensure the achievement of strategic financial goals, including operating cash targets, covenant monitoring, and comparative analysis. This will include oversight of the preparation of statutory and regulatory returns, internal and external financial statements and reports.

With senior financial management/ financial controller leadership experience in the public or private sector, and with board level experience, you will have a track record in leading/ controlling large, diverse and both centrally and distributed finance teams, managing complex human, physical and financial resources.

A membership of a recognised accounting professional body, you will have a strong vision of the finance function as a key business partner, and the acumen to deliver it internally and externally.

The postholder will be expected to foster effective working relationships with College and University Services teams, as well as with external professional bodies, service providers, and regulatory bodies, therefore experience of developing and maintain excellent and influential stakeholder relations is essential.
