Job Description
Lewis Davey is delighted to be retained by Breedon to recruit a Group Energy Manager. A FTSE 250 business, Breedon is a leading producer and supplier of raw earth products and materials.
Job Purpose:
Working as part of the Group Sustainability team, you will be responsible for the operational management of the Group's combined energy portfolio, overseeing the governance of the ISO 50001 Standard and ensuring energy efficiency and regulatory compliance to achieve the Group's Sustainability strategy.

Job Purpose:
Working as part of the Group Sustainability team, you will be responsible for the operational management of the Group's combined energy portfolio, overseeing the governance of the ISO 50001 Standard and ensuring energy efficiency and regulatory compliance to achieve the Group's Sustainability strategy.
Key Role Accountabilities:
- Overall management of the combined energy portfolio for the Group including MOP & DC contracts.
- Provision of AMR services and a comprehensive sub-metering roadmap, including water sub metering.
- Supporting the energy data collection, error checking and verification.
- Data and invoice management, re-billing (split bills and tenants) and bill validation.
- Conduct comprehensive energy audits to identify efficiency opportunities and support capital expenditure planning.
- Ensure the requirements of ESOS and the ISO 50001 Standard is achieved for the Group.
- Ensuring all tax relief opportunities are fully realised and maintained e.g. CCL/EII.
- Work with the Projects lead to identify and support energy projects in the Divisions.
- Communicate energy consumption patterns to site operations, highlighting opportunities for reduction, including baseload management.
- Support for training within the business lines and creation of energy best practice documents.
- Work with suppliers and procurement to establish minimum performance standards for main site equipment, considering TCO.
- Trial new technologies for energy reduction and funding opportunities.
- Policy & industry influence and industry representation (MPA, MEUC).
Main Stakeholder Groups:
- Internally - Divisional MDs and their leadership teams, Operational managers, Group function leads, Procurement, Group Finance/Tax, Group Sustainability Team members and Working Groups.
- Externally - Regulatory Bodies, Industry Bodies, Certification Bodies, Suppliers.
Requirements:
- Relevant skills and experience to deliver the key role accountabilities.
- Experience of the UK gas and electricity supply network.
- Member of the EMA or similar.
- Highly effective communicator, presenter and facilitator.
- Strong stakeholder management with the ability to simplify complex information as appropriate for the audience.
- Proven experience of influencing leaders and operations to implement improvements.
- Collaborative workstyle where you actively seek and understand the input of others to gain broad alignment to ideas and help bring together initiatives clearly for all.
