Project:
For our customer a big pharmaceutical company in Basel we are looking for a highly qualified Genetics & Genomics Lab research associate (m/f/d).

Background:
As an engaged Genetics & Genomics Lab Research Associate, you will play a key role in the development and implementation of genomic assays for biomarker analysis in both pre-clinical and clinical settings. Your primary responsibility will be hands-on laboratory work, driving innovation and advancing our understanding of genetic and genomic mechanisms in support of therapeutic development.

The perfect candidate has a Master's degree or higher in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field and already some years hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques and next-generation sequencing. Additionally we are looking for someone who is growth-oriented, proactive, and adaptable to change, with a dynamic and flexible approach to problem-solving.

Tasks & Responsibilities:

. Develop, validate, and implement genetics and genomics-based biomarker assays (eg, epigenetics, SNVs, CNVs, gene expression signatures, circulating DNA/RNA) to support pre-clinical studies and early-phase clinical trials, characterizing pharmacodynamics and
mechanisms of action for novel therapeutics.
. Evaluate and apply cutting-edge genetics and genomics technologies (eg, single-cell sequencing, spatial-omics, ddPCR) to maximize insights from limited and valuable pre-clinical and clinical samples following Roche GCP standards
. Deliver high-quality biomarker data to project biology and biomarker teams, ensuring impactful contributions to therapeutic development.
. Ensure compliance with Safety, Health, and Environment (SHE) regulations in all laboratory and operational activities, contributing to a safe and sustainable research environment.
. Inspire and train other scientists and associates in applying novel technologies and facilitate the transfer of innovative methods to external collaboration partners.

Must Haves:

. Master's degree or higher in molecular biology, biochemistry, or a related field with substantial experience in biomarker assay development in pre-clinical or clinical settings.
. Deep hands-on expertise in molecular biology techniques (eg, qPCR, ddPCR) and next-generation sequencing (NGS) platforms, including single-cell and spatial-omics technologies.
. Proficiency in developing, validating, and applying genomic assays across multiple platforms and sample types (eg, tissue, liquid biopsies).
. Familiarity with implementing genetics and genomics assays in compliance with Good Clinical Practices (GCP) is a plus.
. Fluency in English is required, German would be nice to have
. Ability to think creatively and rigorously in evaluating and developing new technologies for current and emerging scientific modalities.
. Strong focus on ensuring operational compliance in the storage eg tracking, and management of samples and data, adhering to established regulatory and organizational standards.
. Strong team player with a collaborative spirit, able to work independently and within agile, matrixed teams.
