Job Description

GE ADMS Expert/SME

Whitehall Resources are currently looking for a GE ADMS Expert/SME.

You will be required to use an FCSA Accredited Umbrella Company for this role.

Key Requirements:

- Provides consulting services with technical and/or industry knowledge in Utility Operational Technologies (OT) with a focus on Advance Distribution Management Systems (ADMS) and Supervisory Control and Data Acquisition (SCADA) Systems, Distributed Energy Management Systems (DERMS), Demand Response Management Systems (DRMS), Electric Distribution Outage Management Systems (OMS).
- Able to provide technical guidance for GE POA system, best practices and engage customer stakeholders. Lead client facing meetings.
- Develop high-quality business and technical deliverables related to complex client engagements and ensure client satisfaction.

Key Responsibilities:

- Provide technical architect level expertise in various aspects of OT/ADMS/DERMS/DRMS implementations such as solution architecture, System design, blueprinting and roadmap and gap analysis and system implementation approach.
- Able to support execution of engagements to assist electric utilities with management of OT (SCADA/ADMS/EMS/GIS/AMI) system planning, implementation, testing and operation.
- Prepare detailed documentation for GE ADMS upgrade and create roadmap for this upgrade and leveraging ADO technology for continuous deployment/integrations.
- Support the evaluation of potential new vendor partners, and the development of partnerships with key vendors.
- Support business requirements definition, request for proposal development and vendor evaluation.

Key Skills:

- Good experience in PowerOn Advantage application and its components.
- Configuration of SCADA, DMS, OMS in PoA.
- Should have worked on different modules like Group Tele Control, Automation, system tracing, Symbol Design, Alarm Configurations, etc. in PoA.
- Should have knowledge on writing PL/SQL, Shell, PFL, Perl scripts.
- Should have experience in integrating PoA with OT applications like AMI, WFM, PI Historian and other corporate application systems.
- Should be capable of providing guidance in defining solution architecture considering integration of PoA with external systems.
- Configuration and setup of SOAP services and interfaces.
- Setup/configuration of SCADA simulating tool (SimSCADA).
- Setup of PoA Application and Database server, reports server, FEP server, Historian database and DPF (Dist. Power Flow) Application Server, Proxy Server.
- Reports development using Microsoft SQL server report builder & deploying the reports to IS Sql server reporting services.
- Bringing Servers into replication and testing replication of various Servers (Application Servers, Reports and Proxy Servers).
- Knowledge on PoA cartography for network build.
- Good level of understanding on Windows and Linux server.
- IT/OT and security standards (eg, NERC CIP).
- Expertise in developing test plan/cases, acceptance and transition.
- Knowledge of and a working familiarity with current standards, and regulations governing power systems.
- Use relevant utility experience to engage with client utilities to understand their specific applications, approaches and methodologies in Electric Distribution Operational systems.
- Good understanding of electric utility distribution planning, engineering and operations.
- Understanding of electricity generation, distributed generation, energy storage, and the controls associate with each.
- Utilize specialized utility system design and planning knowledge to produce moderately complex work products and solutions across engagements or multiple phases of a more complex engagement.
- Assess effectiveness of client's use of tools, applications, processes to adapt to new OT applications for solution areas such as DERMS/DRMS/ADMS/OMS/SCADA.
- Apply appropriate methods or recognized equivalent to identified client needs.
- Anticipate and resolve technical problems with occasional technical assistance from others.
