Fundraising Lead

Salary: £40,000 - £55,000

Are you a dynamic and entrepreneurial fundraising professional?

Join STEM Learning as a Fundraising Lead and drive new donor engagement to secure sustainable, multi-year funding. In this pivotal role, you will develop high-value five and six-figure fundraising relationships. Your efforts will maximize our income and sustainability, ensuring STEM Learning continues to inspire and educate future generations.

The Role

As a Fundraising Lead, you will:

  • Secure Funding Partnerships: Develop multi-faceted funding partnerships with corporates and HNWI, securing six-figure donations over multiple years through prospect research, networking, and responding to enquiries
  • Cultivate New Business: Identify and cultivate new business relationships, promoting STEM Learning as a prime investment opportunity. Strengthen our brand's position in the minds of individuals and organizations
  • Innovative Fundraising: Be creative and entrepreneurial, spotting opportunities to present and package STEM Learning's work to achieve sustained income growth from businesses, trusts and high net worth individuals
  • Pipeline Development: Build a strong pipeline of new funding to meet current and future income targets, ensuring adherence to our ethical policies
  • Compelling Proposals: Craft and deliver compelling proposals and pitches to companies, closing deals that support our mission
  • Accurate Reporting: Maintain accurate records for precise reporting and forecasting of income and pipeline
  • Collaborative Engagement: Work with the Chair, Chief Executive, Trustees, Senior Leadership Team, and wider fundraising team to engage new supporters
  • External Representation: Represent STEM Learning at events and conferences, developing new prospects in line with our values.

This position is York or London based or have the ability to meet in-person in London once a fortnight, with occasional UK travel to meet with potential funders.

  • Proven experience in developing five and six-figure multi-year fundraising relationships with major companies
  • Ideally, experience working with major donors
  • Ability to collaborate with internal teams to create compelling proposals for potential funders
  • Skilled in spotting new opportunities through networking and attending events, building new relationships
  • Strong understanding of CSR and sustainability, with the ability to create exciting propositions for companies
  • Excellent negotiation and closing skills
  • Exceptional time and project management skills, focusing on big wins and maintaining up-to-date records for accurate reporting and forecasting.
