FPGA Developer/Engineer
Location: Portsmouth (3-5 days work onsite)
Duration: 12 Months
Rate: up to £700 per day (Inside IR35)
Active Security Clearance Required

Role Description:
The Field Programmable Gate Array (FPGA) Developer/Engineer is responsible for designing, testing, and implementing digital circuits using FPGA technology. You will work on creating custom logic designs, developing hardware descriptions, and testing and debugging designs.

Responsibilities and Key Skills:
The Developer/Engineer will help building next generation Satellite communication terminals having.

The following skills are required for the role:

  • Good working knowledge of Embedded system design & development (ideally past experience in development of modems/RF equipment/SDR solutions);
  • Languages C++ or Python (Java nice to have);
  • Knowledge of Intel and ARM processors architecture (worked to migration from Intel to ARM nice to have);
  • Integration with RF (System On Chip/DSP), and basic knowledge of DSP algorithms;
  • Design and Development of FPGA in VHDL, Verilog.

Workable knowledge of the following is essential:

  • C++ and Python (Java would be a benefit to have);
  • TM, HDL, VHDL and Verilog;
  • Systems Design, ARM, System on a Chip and Digital Signal Processing:
  • Algorithmics and Firmware;
  • Risk Management and Radio-Frequency Engineering.
