Finance Manager

Position: Finance Manager

Salary: Circa £40,000 per annum, pro rata

Location: Bristol, BS16 2QQ

Hours: Up to 28 hours per week (80% FTE)

Closing Date: Sunday 10th November 2024

About the Role:

As the Finance Manager, you will oversee the organisation's financial controls, ensuring compliance and promoting best practices. You will lead financial planning, producing monthly management accounts, annual budgets, and forecasts. Your expertise will help non-finance colleagues understand financial data and its implications, and you'll manage treasury operations, including cashflow forecasting. Additionally, you'll supervise IT, telecoms, and digital operations, working with outsourced partners.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Ensure compliance with financial policies and audits
  • Lead financial planning, budgeting, and forecasting cycles
  • Manage cashflow and banking operations
  • Support IT and digital projects, enhancing systems
  • Manage and mentor the Finance Officer

About You:

You will need to be a qualified accountant (ACA, ACCA, or CIMA) or possess equivalent experience, with strong knowledge of financial controls and management reporting. You are proficient in financial software, ideally cloud-based, and have a solid understanding of charity accounting and VAT. Your leadership and communication skills will support your work with non-finance colleagues and external partners.

Essential Experience:

  • Financial planning, analysis, and reporting
  • Team management and mentoring
  • Experience with cloud-based finance systems
  • Treasury and cashflow management

Desirable Experience:

  • Knowledge of Xledger or similar systems
  • Experience in charity accounting and IT systems management
