Finance Director

North West

Remuneration: Competitive

At ForHousing we own around 18,500 homes across the North West. Everything we do aims to positively impact the lives of our social housing tenants and deliver on what matters to them and their communities. By listening to tenants and keeping them at the heart of all we do, we provide safe, well maintained homes and deliver customer focused, equitable and efficient services, as well as a great place to work for colleagues. We always want to do better and through our tenant focused, inclusive and agile culture, ForHousing is a place where everyone can thrive and be themselves.

Reporting to the Executive Director of Finance and responsible for a team of just over forty, the role will:

Provide strategic insight to inform decision-making and optimise financial performance. Lead and inspire teams fostering innovation, collaboration, and excellence. Drive transformation through our organisation-wide finance systems, processes, and culture. Ensure robust financial governance is in place to effectively manage risk and compliance. Ensure business resilience in a changing economic and regulatory environment, ensuring ForHousing is prepared for the future.

Our new Finance Director will take a lead in financial planning, forecasting and budgeting, deliver efficiency across our financial and procurement operations, overseeing compliance with regulatory and statutory financial requirements.

We are looking for a qualified accountant (CCAB or CIMA) with a track record of wide-ranging financial leadership from a private, non-profit or public sector environment. Experience of social housing is desirable but not essential, although we are looking for a strategic and analytical finance professional who will help us deliver our vision and mission, and help to embed our values of Respect, Trust, Openness and Passion.

We pride ourselves on offering colleagues a place to thrive, creating an inclusive culture. We particularly welcome applications from candidates who are currently underrepresented at decision-making levels in our sector, including women, people from ethnic minorities within the UK, disabled people, younger people and people with personal experience of living in social housing.
