Experienced Teaching Assistant Secondary School in Islington (SEMH Focus)
We are seeking a dedicated and experienced Teaching Assistant to join a vibrant secondary school in Islington, just a short walk from Old Street Station. This full-time role will run from October 2024 to July 2025, with an opportunity to train as a teacher after completing your first year in the position.
Experienced Teaching Assistant The Role: As an SEMH (Social, Emotional, and Mental Health) focused Teaching Assistant, you will play a vital role in supporting students with additional needs, helping them to manage their behaviour and achieve their potential. Working closely with teaching staff, you ll provide 1:1 and small group support, fostering a positive learning environment and building strong relationships with pupils.

- A minimum of 2 terms experience as a Teaching Assistant in a secondary school setting.
- Proven ability to support students with SEMH needs and to manage challenging behaviour effectively.
- A passion for making a difference in young people s lives and a strong commitment to their development.
- Pay: £96-105 per day PAYE.
- Hours: Monday to Friday, 08.30 - 16.00 (approx).
- Contract: October 2024 July 2025.
