Estates Manager - 40,000 - Birmingham

Your new role
To manage the daily operations of estates across all designated Academies. You will need to be a confident and authentic leader, responsible for overseeing and supporting the Senior Site Managers and Site Managers at each Academy.

  • Regularly meet with the principals at each Academy.
  • Attend senior management and relevant meetings to present estates information and data.
  • Report directly to the Estates & Facilities Director on all estates procedures.
  • Conduct fire risk assessments, and manage asbestos and legionella.
  • Oversee maintenance tasks such as basic repairs, leaks, and fire door replacements.
  • Ensure budget improvements and financial procedures are followed in awarding contracts and services.
  • Implement and maintain health and safety controls across all academies.
  • Hold and manage academy keys, and understand locking and opening procedures.
  • Maintain clear communication with staff regarding health and safety.
  • Manage project plans and oversee the delivery of improvement projects and building works
  • What you'll need to succeed
  • Relevant experience in estates or facilities roles.
  • Project managing estates experience
  • Experience of producing and managing estates budgets, tenders and sourcing quotes.
  • Relevant health & safety management experience
  • An understanding of the importance of safeguarding within schools.
  • Have a high level of numeracy and literacy skills
  • Be able to deliver excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • The ability to manage, lead and influence other staff and teams effectively
  • Hold excellent IT skills (Microsoft Office, Excel)
