Estate & Project Development Manager - Loch Arkaig

The Woodland Trust are looking for an Estate and Project Development Manager (known internally as Estate Manager Loch Arkaig) in our Scotland team to take overall responsibility for ensuring that all aspects of the landscape vision for the land around Loch Arkaig is delivered successfully with our partners.
The Role:
• This is an exciting opportunity as we are looking for an Estate and Project Development Manager (known internally as Estate Manager Loch Arkaig) to lead on the development of the Beò Airceig landscape partnership, supporting and potentially leading the development of other landscape scale partnerships which contribute to the achievement of the wider vision for WT, our partners and the Alliance for Scotland s Rainforest. This includes supporting the fundraising team to secure funds and management and support for any WT staff associated with the project.
• Line manage the Site Manager, whose main focus is on the restoration of the Woodland Trust owned forest, to enable the vision and remain motivated and able to carry out their roles efficiently and effectively.
• Developing and managing positive relationships with community partner Arkaig Community Forest, the wider community, neighbouring landowners, funders and key stakeholders
• This role is based in Scotland and will require the successful candidate to undertake travel across Scotland and occasionally the UK.
• A company vehicle will be provided to enable the post-holder to carry out their duties. Because of the nature of this role, this will be a double-cab pick-up 4x4 vehicle. HMRC are changing the way that individuals who have private use of these vehicles are taxed from 5 April 2025. It is likely that this vehicle will be provided to you for business use only, however, the Trust will discuss the vehicle and your individual circumstances as part of the recruitment process.
The Candidate:
• Educated to HND / degree level or similar in conservation, forestry, land management, or a related field.
• You have an enthusiasm for the environment and share our core values Grow Together, Explore, Focus and Make it Count.
• This is a key role in our Scotland team and for candidates to stand out, we are looking for experience in developing and managing landscape scale nature restoration projects and programmes.
• You ll be an inspiring leader with experience of managing people, you ll be results driven, motivated and commercially aware. You ll have the ability to motivate and develop individuals to perform their best.
• Should have previously managed complex projects including managing, monitoring and reporting on budgets as well as contract management.
• Confident in building and developing partnerships with external and internal stakeholders and able to influence different audiences, to successfully change attitudes and behaviours for strategic impact.
• You will have a full clean UK driving licence.
