English Teacher Autism Specialist School in Wandsworth, South West London ASAP Start / January Start Full-time, permanent MPS Inner London: £38,766 - £50,288 per annum About the Role As an English Teacher with Drama specialism, you will be responsible for teaching a class of pupils, creating engaging lessons that cater to their varied learning and social needs. English will be the main subject, with Drama enhancing the curriculum and providing creative outlets for students. You ll play an active role in nurturing a positive learning environment and embody the school s core values inside and outside the classroom. This role requires a professional who can motivate students and uphold high standards in both teaching and personal conduct. Key Responsibilities
- Teaching: Deliver high-quality English and Drama lessons, ensuring planning, preparation, recording, assessment, and reporting meet individual needs.
- Ethos: Promote and maintain the positive ethos and values of the school, supporting its mission to develop potential, touch hearts, and engage minds.
- Reporting: Provide accurate, timely reports to all stakeholders, including the Senior Leadership Team (SLT), Governors, and parents/carers.
- Assessment: Conduct thorough assessments of students learning and progress, setting ambitious targets to support their development.
- Professional Standards: Uphold the professional standards for qualified teachers, in line with the General Teaching Council for England s code of conduct.
- Qualifications: Qualified Teacher Status (QTS) with experience or strong interest in teaching both English and Drama.
- Passion for Education: A genuine passion for literature and the performing arts, with the ability to inspire and engage students.
- Strong Communication: Excellent interpersonal skills to effectively liaise with students, colleagues, and parents.
