Your new role
As the lead technical buyer on multiple projects, you will oversee the procurement of electrical technical plant and materials selection. You will assist and report directly to the head of procurement. In this role, you will collaborate with various teams, including Design, Estimating, Commercial, Operations, Preconstruction, and Finance.Your responsibilities will include ensuring the smooth transition of all technical orders, from requesting and reviewing quotes to issuing and gaining approval of Technical Submittals. You will also keep budgets updated and inform the wider group about progress through trackers and progress meetings.

What you'll need to succeed

  • Proven experience in an electrical technical role such as Trade/Contracts Management, Technical Procurement, or Electrical Estimating.
  • Minimum GCSEs in English & Maths.
  • Industry-specific qualification i.e. NVQ/C&G Electrical Installation, 18th Edition
  • Proficiency in computer skills, particularly Microsoft Office Suite (Word, PowerPoint, Outlook, and Excel).
  • Capable of negotiating, establishing, and finalising deals.
  • Excellent organisational and planning skills with the ability to meet deadlines.
  • Effective time management.
  • Problem-solving capabilities.
  • Attention to detail with accuracy and precision.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively with management and staff at all levels.
  • A goal-oriented and organised team player.
