SLR's expert ecology team continues to expand rapidly and now consists of well over 100 consultants. This has led to the opportunity for a capable administrator to join us and provide effective support to our Resourcing Manager.
Our work covers the whole of the UK, supporting a range of different clients. This role is essential in ensuring the ecology team have clearly-understood, well-planned and balanced workloads; helping the team thrive in their roles. It also plays a part in strategic planning for the future.
Not only will it be a pivotal role in the Ecology team, but the successful candidate will also be involved in the smooth interaction between SLR's ecology team and other disciplines, such as planning, hydrology and environmental impact assessment.
Although we cover the whole of the UK, this role will be focussed on England as a region.

About you
We are looking for someone who is organised, self-motivated and keen to learn. You will be adaptable and happy to support with day-to-day administrative tasks, as well as to think creatively and be an active part of developing really great resourcing solutions for the team.
You should have the ability to remain calm in a fast-paced work environment and be able to coordinate lots of different work plans.
- IT proficiency is a must-have, Excel in particular, and advanced in using different types of software. SLR uses the Enterprise Resource Planning system Deltek Vantagepoint, use of which will be a core element of the role
- Proven administrative and organisational skills in organising and prioritising multiple, overlapping tasks
- Excellent interpersonal skills, as this role is about organising, and it's organising humans! So being great with people is a must
- Experience of resourcing on projects in some capacity
- All of our work is project based, so any understanding of the project management process will be beneficial
- Problem solving and an ability to think creatively, SLR is a fast growing and dynamic company, we're seeking to create really great systems and processes, and creative, solutions focussed minds are always welcome
- Interest in sustainability is always advantageous
About the role
- Maintenance of the Ecology Resource Planner document (Excel), ensuring it is accurate and up to date
- Producing management reports from our Enterprise Resource Planning system, Deltek Vantagepoint
- Liaising with team members about availability, and keeping track of resolving work requests
- Working with project managers on requirements for their projects and supporting them to plan and schedule ecological surveys
- Providing administrative support to our project managers such as invoicing
- General ad-hoc support to the Ecology Resourcing Manager
- Collaboration on developing our team's tools and systems
