Job Description

The Early Careers Team Lead role will be supporting the future delivery and operational capability of the Capital Engineering function through the development of Graduates, Apprentices, and Summer/Year in Industry students, and to ensure Early Careers new entrants are fully developed to be appropriately skilled contributors deployed across Capital.

Location: Aldermaston, Berkshire

Package: £50,000 - £65,000 depending on experience

Closing Date: 4th September

This role will give you the opportunity to work for one of the area's largest employers where you will have the opportunity to develop your expertise whilst making a direct and visible contribution to the successful running of our business. You'll be responsible for the following:

  • The Early Careers community are developed to meet Capital Engineering's skill and resource requirements for demand to sustain future operations
  • Development plans are in place for each individual
  • Collective development plans are in place and maintained for sub-function
  • Each developing individual delivers 6-, 12-, and 18-month reviews
  • Each individual is properly ready for their final review at 24 months
  • You support Capital Recruitment campaigns
  • Be a key link between AWE and a wide network of universities and college
  • Provide oversight of requirements for future Early Careers recruitment for the sub-function, including Recruit, Train, Deploy campaigns

We are particularly interested to hear from candidates with experience in some, or all of the following:

  • Working knowledge of Engineering would be beneficial
  • Strong communications skills (both written and oral)
  • Passionate about developing emerging talent, with a strong desire to nurture potential.
  • Exceptional interpersonal skills, able to build and maintain strong relationships with young people and diverse stakeholders.
  • Previous history of line management
  • Experience in working with young people/young careers / emerging talent would be beneficial.
