Director of People & Organisational Development
St Luke's Hospice (Harrow & Brent)
Salary: Circa £90,000 plus pension and benefits
London / Hybrid - 3-4 days on site

St Luke's Hospice cares for people approaching the end of their life in Harrow and Brent. We aim to give the people we care for the best possible quality of life, every day. Supporting local people and their families is at the heart of what we do - focusing on what matters the most to them is at the centre of our care.

Founded by local communities in 1987, we have been providing free expert end of life care and support to local people both in the community and from our beautiful hospice, surrounded by tranquil gardens.

Two thirds of our care is provided in the comfort of peoples' homes. Our specialist community team of nurses helps people to manage more complex needs whilst our Hospice at Home team supports people to remain in their own homes by providing practical care and support.

Our inpatient unit cares for people in their final days, providing intensive care to help get symptoms under control or give respite care. Many of the people who are cared for in our IPU go home again.

It is an exciting and pivotal time to join St Luke's Hospice as we focus on transformational change across all areas of our work. You will be joining an organisation at an exciting stage of its journey, with a new strategy in place and a strong focus on doing great things for its community. Supported by our dedicated team of staff, volunteers and trustees, St Luke's Hospice strives to provide high-quality, compassionate hospice care to people in Brent and Harrow.

This role will play a leading role to develop our Talent, Capabilities and Ways of Working and ensure they are embedded across our organisation. Your professional experience and skills will be essential as you act as the executive sponsor for culture transformation initiatives, including values-based recruitment, strategic performance management, engaging staff activities, promoting genuine ED&I, and developing new and optimising existing HR, pay and reward systems and solutions.

The ideal applicant will be a senior people leader with a strong background and knowledge of the health sector and significant experience in crafting and implementing broad People and organisation strategies and implementing culture and organisation change strategies.

You will be agile, engaging and commercially adept, with a high level of experience, integrity and gravitas, strong ethical standards and a commitment to promoting an inclusive and diverse workplace.

If you feel inspired by the idea of joining our team, and you are a strong and influential People leader, we would love to hear from you.
