Job Description

We are seeking an experienced Technical Developer Lead skilled in Ruby on Rails and NodeJS/React to work on a 50/50 split of development and leadership. This is a hybrid role leading a team of junior developers on a global scale. Our client, a global services organisation, is experiencing significant growth and investment. As part of their expansion, they require a technical lead to oversee the development and enhancement of a supply-chain ESG platform. You provide daily support to the junior team and provide regular guidance since the team

The ideal candidate will assume a multifaceted role. They will act as a strategic thought leader, collaborating closely with the Head of Development, Business Analysis, Project Management, Architecture, and wider SCRUM teams to define product roadmaps, assess and evaluate new technologies, and ensure the technical feasibility of ambitious projects. Furthermore, the successful candidate will be a hands-on technical expert, responsible for designing, developing, and implementing complex software solutions leveraging their mastery of modern technologies. Having development experience with Ruby on Rails, NodeJS or React is key.

The Lead Developer will also foster a collaborative and innovative environment where junior developers can flourish under their mentorship. They will champion best practices, ensuring the code produced is not only functional but also secure, scalable, and maintainable for the long term. Through their leadership and technical expertise, the suitable candidate will play a vital role in driving the creation of successful software products that propel the company's business forward.

Essential Skills
  • Daily Scrum supporting the Junior Team is very important to them-the team requires regular guidance.
  • React/Node JS & Ruby on Rails are all key
  • Security vulnerability management, knowing what needs to be addressed when looking at security practices and processes is important.
  • Being able to prioritise backlogged tickets is key
  • Has led a team globally.
  • Has migrated from Ruby on Rails to NodeJS or similar.

Working Environment
