Thames Reach runs projects and services that help to end homelessness in London. We work directly with homeless people on the streets and in hostels. We work to prevent vulnerable people from becoming homeless. We help formerly homeless people get their lives back on track. About this role
The Thames Reach Outreach teams operate across London and help those who are rough sleeping to find routes away from the street. The teams respond rapidly and work flexibly to reach people. Individuals are assessed to identify their support needs and support plans are created, including work to obtain identification, access health services and refer to other specialist agencies, including those offering immigration support.
Thames Reach welcomes applications from people with transferable skills.
You will:
- Work alongside the Lead Manager to oversee the delivery of the Mobile Intervention Support Team (MIST). MIST ensures that clients that have been accommodated after rough sleeping in the City of London are supported to sustain short-term accommodation.
- Analyse data to measure performance against the contract requirements, writing reports for both senior managers and commissioners.
- Be responsible for directly managing the staff team, overseeing casework practice of the team and ensuring that the team have everything they need to carry out their roles.
- Have involvement in ensuring the finances of the service are well managed and that the team is compliant with all relevant policies and legislation.
- Foster a culture of high performance and continual striving to improve upon successes throughout your team.
- Develop and manage partnerships with key agencies across the City of London.
To succeed as the Support Worker you will have:
- Experience of delivering support to adults that have experienced multiple disadvantage
- Excellent prioritising skills and be able to independently manage your workload.
- The skills to be a proficient user of Microsoft Office applications, including databases.
- An interest in homelessness and a desire to support us to have a positive impact on the lives of homeless people.
- Experience in organising the operations of a complex, busy service.
- Excellent communication skills and be able to form and maintain effective working relationships with all partners.
- Experience in directly managing staff, ensuring high quality casework and quick outcomes are achieved.
