Job description:

As a Controls Process & Continuous Improvement Manager, you are someone who thrives on the challenge of driving improvements and ensuring robust processes, and you would relish the opportunity to make a significant impact. Your role would be to oversee the development and enforcement of controls within the shared service centre to uphold the integrity of the company's financial statements.

This role is based within the Record to Reporting team but will have a significant impact throughout the PBS team. The purpose of the department is to ensure the integrity of the company's financial statements by establishing and enforcing robust processes and controls within the shared service centre.

This is a maternity cover contract of 14 months.

There is an opportunity for you to contribute to key projects/workstreams such as robotics, disposals, acquisitions, and ESG requirements regarding plastic tax. You will also have the chance to lead and motivate an associate accountant, provide guidance, conduct monthly reviews, set objectives, and help manage workload to maximise individual development. Additionally, you will be responsible for ensuring that end-to-end processes, controls, and risks are understood, documented, and validated, while also escalating issues and making recommendations for improvements.

The Key Requirements
  • Fully Qualified CIMA or equivalent (ACA, ACCA) with 2-5 years post qualification experience.
  • Strong Controls background
  • High impact and influence skills for stakeholder management across the finance function/wider company.
  • In-depth understanding of processes and reporting
  • Proven experience in redesigning, tweaking & implementing processes
  • Awareness of proposed UK Internal Controls over Financial Reporting (SOX) legislation
  • Effective communication and influencing skills.
  • Strong analytical background.
  • Ability to work as part of fast paced team and deliver to tight deadlines inc. prioritisation of workload
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills
