Controller Business Insights

• The Financial Planning & Analysis (FP&A) team is looking for a Business Insights Controller dedicated to the Commercial Business Unit, which is a critical value creation business for the Group. We are looking for a finance professional who can make an important contribution to professionalizing the financial planning and analysis processes within Schiphol, by incorporating and recognizing the value of modern FP&A and digital initiatives in our business financial planning and performance cycle.
• In your role as Business Insights Controller, you are a member of the operating units finance team as well as functionally belong to Financial Planning & Analysis team, within Finance.

As a controller Business Insights you are responsible for providing FP&A leadership to the Commercial operating units. This shall be demonstrated by acting as a finance challenger and sparring partner to the functional team members, as well as acting as an FP&A function ambassador within the finance team and in the businesses. • Acting as a sparring partner and challenger to the Commercial Business Controllers and functional leaders.
• Providing financial leadership for the Commercial Business Units through delivering standard and ad-hoc reports, analysis and insight and improving and executing the financial core processes to guarantee a reliable FP&A function within Commercial Business area.
• In the lead in coordinating the actual reporting and analysis as well as planning process (Latest Estimate, Budget and multi-year plans) regarding Commercial Business activities development.
• Perform analysis that provide insight into current and future opportunities and risks, key financial and business KPI's as well as departmental cost developments.

In this role, you actively contribute to the Finance Business Partnering activities developments across Commercial organizational units and provide added value to the development of the FP&A function. In addition to the skills of financial controller/analyst, you also have additional knowledge of financial process, business and performance processes, affinity with data management, analytics and dashboarding. This is to continuously improve business and functional processes within FP&A area (making them efficient and effective) and to correctly translate the business finance demand into solutions that the FP&A team can provide.

Schiphol's financial function is developing into a Trusted Advisor and Digital Finance organization. Our finance operating model is built around three core areas of responsibility; Be a Navigator, Create Insights and Ensure Compliance.

The FP&A team is responsible for making analyses, translating business specific data and information to be used for broader organizational purposes and providing (actionable) insights. We are the point of contact for insights questions where financial and non-financial information come together for all organizational units (Aviation and non-Aviation).

• At least 5-7 years of relevant work experience.
• Academic thinking and working level (professional certifications such as RC/CIMA/CMA is a plus).
• Recognizing the importance of the key stakeholders and ability to create the connection on the virtue of FP&A and Business (Finance) in a form understandable to all stakeholders involved.
• Knowledge of and affinity with data management systems, analytics and dashboarding.
• Fluent in Dutch and English.
• Experience with Onestream, Power BI is a plus.

• € 5432 to € 7535 gross per month (Schaal 13).
• A 13th month (year-end bonus).
• Participation in the ABP pension fund.
• The possibility to work 4 x 9 hours in a 36-hour work week.
