JOB TITLE: Control System Engineer / Mid / Senior / Principal

LOCATION: Oxfordshire

SALARY: £50,000 - £65,000

WAY OF WORKING: Full Time In Office Permanent

Zero Global are excited to announce we are working closely with a leading company specialising in the development of powertrain and ancillary technologies for electric vehicles.

THE CONTROL SYSTEM ENGINEER OPPORTUNITY:

This position involves hands-on systems and software development. You will be responsible for the technical design and development of projects, ensuring they are delivered to a high standard with significant independence. The role encompasses all aspects of control system design, from identifying initial requirements to final delivery, including software development, calibration, and deployment. Familiarity with various components of vehicle electronic systems, such as vehicle architecture, wiring looms, sensors/actuators, and systems integration.

RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Design of vehicle-level system architecture
  • High and low voltage systems design, including communication systems
  • Integration design for vehicle electrical systems
  • Safety analysis and design processes
  • Design and development of real-time embedded control software
  • Test rig design and implementation
  • Application testing, calibration, and validation
  • Documentation of all process steps

YOUR KEY SKILLS:

  • Software: MATLAB, Simulink, C/C++, PC applications (Visual studio).
  • Simulation: model development, data generation and analysis
  • Analysis: Data logging and analysis
  • Vehicle communications systems including CAN and LIN along with associated tools such as PEAK, Vector CANalyzer/CANoe
  • Good experience of PC applications Word, Excel, Viseo, Project etc.

NICE TO HAVE:

  • Vehicle systems architecture design
  • Wiring Loom design
  • Safety analysis including FMEA, HazOP
  • Electronic system test, calibration and validation
  • Understanding of the mechanical, thermal and other vehicle systems.
  • Knowledge of ISO26262
  • Automotive quality systems and processes
  • Practical capabilities: Wiring loom build, repair, mechanical knowledge and hands on experience
