Job Description
Opportunity: Join a chartered, industry leading multidisciplinary consultancy firm based in Nottinghamshire. Responsibility: As the new consultant ecologist on the Nottingham team, your responsibilities will include: Undertaking key assessments like PEAs and EcIAs. Preparation of applications for and management of protected species licenses. Carry out desk studies and handle GIS mapping responsibilities. Organising and overseeing field surveys as well as the analysis and interpretation of the findings. Management of the team members fieldwork and the logistical needs for field investigations (equipment, transport, team members required etc.). Provide ecological input for BREEAM and Code assessments relating Sustainable Homes. Requirements: To be successful in this role, you ll need to have previous experience in an ecological consultancy environment. During that time, you will need to have gained experience carrying out BNG assessments, protected species surveys, UK Habs assessments, GIS data mapping, organising fieldwork and undertaking technical report writing (e.g. PEAs and EcIAs). Alongside this, you will need at least one protected species license (the more the better obviously), a full UK driver s license as well as access to a vehicle and a willingness to travel for site work around the UK.
