Job Description

If you're looking for a varied and flexible role which helps us to reach and support more people affected by dementia than ever before, look no further!

You'll volunteer with our Fundraising teams to raise awareness in your local community and assist our supporters to raise funds. You'll help us to identify potential new supporters, to build brand awareness and to inspire people in your local area to know more about dementia. By being one of our Ambassadors, you'll put your passion for making a difference into action by engaging with our supporters in a variety of ways such as attending events or cheques presentations and helping with bucket collections.

We are looking for volunteers to join our Regional Fundraising team. Fundraising is vital for Alzheimer's Society to provide essential services, fund research, and advocate for changes that improve the lives of those affected by dementia.

As a Community Fundraising Ambassador, your role can be tailored to fit your interests and schedule. You might attend events, manage collections, participate in cheque presentations, or run information stands. Many opportunities are available in your local area for you to choose from.

In this role, you will gain insights into dementia while contributing to the fundraising efforts that support individuals living with and affected by the condition. You will have training and support from a Role Manager. You will be connected to a friendly and passionate team of Regional Fundraisers.

As of August 2024, there are over 5,600 people living with dementia in Leicestershire. This does not account for the thousands of caregivers who also require our support.

Community Fundraising Ambassadors, connect with the community, raise vital funds, and increase awareness of our cause, providing Help and Hope to those in need.

You'll be great for the role if:

  • You are passionate about making a difference in your local community and to the lives of people affected by dementia
  • You have experience of or an interest in fundraising and raising awareness
  • You have good communication skills and enjoy engaging with people
  • You are self-motivated, organised and confident to volunteer independently
  • You are over the age of 16
