We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Strategic Buyer to join our procurement team. The ideal candidate will work on managing and optimizing our procurement processes, ensuring that we achieve value while maintaining high quality and sustainability standards. You will work closely with various departments, suppliers, and stakeholders to develop and implement procurement strategies that align with our business goals.
Commodity Manager Direct Material (m/f/d) Responsibilities:- Develop and implement procurement strategies: Analyze market trends, supplier performance, and business requirements to create effective and sustainable procurement strategies.
- Supplier management: Identify, evaluate, and manage supplier relationships. Negotiate contracts, terms, and conditions to secure advantageous deals in cooperation with the responsible Sourcing Manager
- Cost optimization and analyzation: Continuously seek opportunities to reduce costs while maintaining or improving quality, supplier performance, and sustainability.
- Risk management: Identify potential risks in the supply chain and develop strategies to mitigate them in cooperation with internal stakeholders
- Performance monitoring: Track and report on key performance indicators (KPIs) related to procurement activities.
- Collaboration: Work closely with other departments (e.g., production, finance, R&D) to ensure that procurement activities align with overall business objectives.
- Continuous improvement: Stay updated on industry trends and best practices , best practices, and regulatory requirements in an effort to continuously improve procurement processes.
- Completed commercial training, ideally supplemented by a degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain Management, or a related field. A master's degree is a plus.
- Several years of experience in procurement, ideally with experience in a strategic buying role.
- Strong negotiation and communication skills.
- Proficiency in procurement software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Ability to work independently, and as part of a structured and collaborative procurement team
- Knowledge of basic contract law
- Proficient in Global supply chain management
- Very good knowledge of SAP R/3 and MS Office
- Fluent in English; additional languages are a plus
- Strong analytical thinking, good understanding of figures and an independent, structured, goal-oriented way of working
- Team spirit, flexibility and assertiveness
