Company Introduction
We have an exciting opportunity available with a leading local authority client! They are currently looking for an experienced Commercial Asset Manager to join their team and manage a diverse commercial property portfolio for a multi year project.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

1. Manage a portfolio of commercial properties, identifying opportunities to increase rental income and minimise costs.
2. Oversee rent reviews, lease renewals, and dispute resolutions, including market and let vacant units.
3. Work closely with internal teams to manage void properties, minimise rent arrears, and ensure timely debt recovery.
4. Ensure compliance with Health & Safety and statutory requirements for all commercial properties.
5. Provide professional advice to internal stakeholders and support the development of the Council's asset management strategy.
6. Contribute to the ongoing review and improvement of property management processes and procedures.

Required Skills/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. Significant experience in managing commercial property portfolios, including rent reviews, lease renewals, and dispute resolution.
2. Strong knowledge of property laws, statutory compliance, and Health & Safety regulations.
3. Proven ability to work collaboratively with internal teams and external stakeholders, including contractors and tenants.
4. RICS membership (or working towards qualification) in Valuation or Commercial Property pathways.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Experience working with voluntary and community sector (VCS) properties.
2. Familiarity with procurement processes and financial management in commercial property.
3. Experience with property data management systems and asset management databases.
4. Knowledge of regeneration schemes and the ability to provide advice on related property matters.
