2 x roles - Senior Civil Engineer and Civil Engineer

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Senior Civil Engineer and a Civil Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking organisation. This role is ideal for an experienced professional with a strong technical background who is looking to take the next step in their career by developing leadership and strategic decision-making skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead, coordinate, and develop a multi-disciplinary team, providing technical guidance and oversight for projects, maintenance, and inspections.

  • Act as an internal consultant, reviewing designs and specifications to ensure compliance with statutory and best practice standards.

  • Oversee a programme of condition inspections, applying critical judgment to plan efficient maintenance and repair strategies that align with sustainability goals.

  • Work on a diverse range of civil and structural assets, including bridges, roadways, piers, quays, and breakwaters.

  • Prepare designs, work packages, specifications, and drawings for new construction, planned maintenance, and reactive maintenance projects.

  • Keep up to date with emerging design methodologies, material technologies, and inspection techniques to drive innovation and efficiency.

  • Support and mentor engineers working towards chartership through an ICE-approved training scheme.

  • Collaborate with stakeholders to ensure engineering solutions align with business objectives.


Skills and Qualifications:

  • BEng/MEng in Civil Engineering or related discipline, with 3+ years of post-graduate experience (preferably from a design consultancy background).

  • Chartered or working towards Chartered/Incorporated Member status of a relevant engineering institution.

  • Familiarity with current design codes and CDM regulations.

  • Strong problem-solving skills, attention to detail, and ability to apply good judgment.

  • Proficiency in AutoCAD (or willingness to learn).

  • High standard of written and verbal communication.

  • Valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle.
