Children's Community Occupational Therapist - Adults Social Care
Job description
7.5 hours per week
We are seeking an experienced paediatric occupational therapist to undertake the community-based social care assessments of children with disabilities. The role will involve working with children up to the age of 18 years, their parents and caregivers, to help resolve or minimise any problems they may have with the activities and occupations that matter to them. Using a strength-based and outcome focussed approach, you will be advising on how best to overcome barriers to participation, including environmental barriers. You will also provide advice on daily living equipment and technology-based solutions to help the children maximise their development and independence.
The postholder will be part of our Community Occupational Therapy team and will work closely with Occupational Therapists in the local Children s Clinic and with our Occupational Therapist based in the Housing Department.
The role involves managing your own case load, fully utilising multi-agency working to ensure the best outcomes for children and their families, and keeping up to date with legislation, new developments and technologies.
The ability to greet customers through the medium of Welsh is a requirement for this post.
Protecting children, young people or adults at risk is a core responsibility of all council employees.
Criminal records check by the Disclosure & Barring Service (DBS) is a requirement for this post.
A valid driving licence is requirement for this post.
The council s Hybrid Working Policy applies to this post. This provides a framework for establishing how you will undertake working hours between your home and the office.
