About Scouts:

Every week Scouts give almost half a million 4-25 year olds the skills they need to step up, speak up and find their place in the world. These are the skills that help them at the job interview, the tricky challenge and the big dreams. Scouts is about learning by doing, so young people build confidence, resilience, and practical skills, all while having fun and contributing positively to their communities.

About the role:

This is a critical role at the Scouts. The Chief Fundraising Officer oversees voluntary income through a range of fundraising activities, developing and managing the fundraising team whist working collaboratively across the organisation. Reporting to the Executive Director of Marketing and Fundraising, and contributing as a key member of the Scouts' leadership team, you will share collective responsibility to deliver the organisation's strategy which is underpinned by the need for sustainable fundraising.

The Chief Fundraising Officer provides leadership on developing the Scouts' strategic fundraising activities, recognising shared priorities, and meeting financial targets for each portfolio area comprising corporate partnerships, grants, philanthropy, individual giving, and legacy fundraising. The role will provide leadership to steer the development of future funding portfolio areas/streams, to build a pipeline for giving on a growing and sustainable basis.

About you:

We are seeking a senior leader with a proven track record in driving revenue-generating activities. You will possess outstanding communication and strategic planning skills, with the ability to motivate and collaborate effectively as a team player. You'll take the lead in managing external relationships while providing essential briefings and support to senior colleagues and other stakeholders. Your leadership will be instrumental in helping us achieve ambitious goals, so a track record of team management is very important. This role would suit a fundraiser coming from a senior role with a high value fundraising focus, keen to develop their skills across a full range of income streams.
