Chief Executive

The Clink Charity, established in 2010, aims to reduce reoffending rates by providing prisoners with valuable skills and qualifications in catering and horticulture. The charity operates training restaurants and gardens within prisons across England and Wales, offering inmates the opportunity to gain City & Guilds NVQ qualifications. The Clink also operates a social enterprise, Clink Events, providing catering to some of London's most prestigious venues, and it is in the process of opening Clink College, to provide training and support to young people at risk of offending. These programs not only equip the Clink's trainees with practical skills but also help them build confidence and a sense of purpose, which are crucial for their reintegration into society.

The Role

As CEO, you will provide strategic direction and leadership to achieve The Clink's mission and objectives. Reporting to the Board of Trustees, you will oversee the organisation's operations, champion its mission, and ensure its influence and impact.

Key Responsibilities:

• Lead the charity's strategic goals, organisational development, and financial sustainability. Inspire and empower the Executive Group to drive the organisation through effective collaboration.
• Ensure resources are available to meet objectives and future commitments.
• Develop and maintain strategic relationships with stakeholders, including the Ministry of Justice and local councils.
• Act as an ambassador for The Clink, engaging with government, media, and donors.
• Foster an organisational culture that attracts and motivates high-quality staff from diverse backgrounds.

The Candidate:

• Proven strategic and operational leadership experience in commercial, not-for-profit, or governmental environments.
• Ability to manage budgets and establish fundraising streams.
• Entrepreneurial mindset with a track record of building collaborative ventures.
• Experience in managing commercial relationships and delivering sustainable financial outcomes.
• Strong communication and ambassadorial skills with the ability to influence a wide range of audiences.
• Empathy with The Clink's mission and values, and the ability to achieve business goals.

Requirements:

• Ministry of Justice Enhanced Vetting.
• Right to work in the UK and ability to provide original documentation.
