The Role

We are looking for a Business Management Lead to join our RAPID & Environmental Planning directorate at Principal level. In this role, you will be at the centre of the team, leading on business management for the directorate, coordinating activities and acting as a key liaison to provide directors with the information they need to make effective decisions and plan resources. You will also develop and manage processes to support the efficient management of the directorate, championing risk management across of all teams.

This is a unique opportunity for the right candidate to apply their organisational and business management skills to support Ofwat in making a real difference for customers and the environment. In this role, you will support the vital work of the directorate, focusing on the future of water supply, addressing environmental impact and climate change, and ensuring infrastructure is in place to support England and Wales for future generations.

About You

Below are some of the key essential experience, skills & knowledge required for this post:

  1. Exceptional organisational skills demonstrated by experience of setting up and managing complex work and resources plans at directorate level to maximise efficiency and delivery.
  2. Experience of working within a portfolio, programme and project management environment or PMO within a similar or complex organisation.
  3. Experience of implementing risk management, budget and resource management processes.
  4. Evidence of continuing professional development which can be demonstrated by relevant qualifications or membership in a relevant professional body.
  5. Excellent leadership skills demonstrated by a proven ability to build, manage, motivate and inspire a team with passion, enthusiasm and a clear strategic vision.
  6. Ability to communicate confidently and effectively at all levels. This includes a track record of engaging, advising and influencing at all levels of an organisation, including senior managers, to make a positive difference for internal stakeholders
