Company Introduction:
We have an exciting opportunity with a leading housing association seeking an experienced Building Surveyor to support property maintenance and improvement projects.

Job Responsibilities/Objectives:

1. Conduct Property Inspections - Assess housing stock to identify defects, maintenance needs, and compliance with building regulations.
2. Deliver Maintenance & Improvement Projects - Oversee repairs, refurbishments, and planned works to ensure quality and cost-effectiveness.
3. Ensure Regulatory Compliance - Ensure properties meet health, safety, and housing standards, advising on necessary remedial actions.
4. Liaise with Stakeholders - Work closely with tenants, contractors, and internal teams to deliver efficient surveying and property management solutions.

Required Skills/Experience:
The ideal candidate will have the following:

1. RICS or MRICS Qualification - Must hold a RICS or MRICS qualification, demonstrating professional expertise in building surveying.
2. Building Surveying Experience - Proven experience in building surveying, property inspections, and managing maintenance projects.
3. Knowledge of Housing Regulations - Strong understanding of housing standards, health and safety regulations, and building compliance requirements.
4. Excellent Report Writing - Ability to produce detailed and clear reports on property conditions, defects, and recommended actions.

Desirable Skills/Experience:
Although not essential, the following skills are desired by the client:

1. Experience with Social Housing - Previous experience working within a housing association or managing social housing projects.
2. Project Management Skills - Ability to manage multiple surveying and maintenance projects from inception to completion.
3. Knowledge of Sustainability Practices - Familiarity with sustainable building practices and energy efficiency standards in housing.
4. Strong IT Skills - Proficiency in using surveying software, property management systems, and Microsoft Office tools.
