Overview

Our client in the financial services industry is seeking a skilled Budget Reporting Analyst to oversee the technology department's expense budget and financial performance. The ideal candidate will be responsible for conducting financial analysis, providing recommendations to allocate funds effectively, and improving variance commentary/analysis on budget vs actuals to enhance decision making and cost optimization opportunities.

This is an initial 6-month contract role, with the potential to stay as a permanent employee. The role will be releasing shortly this week, along with the full confirmation of details including the rate.

• Oversees the department's expense budget and financial performance
• Improves variance commentary/analysis on budget vs actuals
• Creates transparency over the department's expense and expenditure costs
• Enhances budget control, approval workflows, and escalates risk and potential cost savings
• Collaborates with the Financial Technology Reporting department to create FINOPS capability
• Attends monthly Headcount and Financial Management Review meetings with L2 Management
• Prepares and develops annual expense budget proposals and funding requests

• Proven experience as a Budget Analyst (5 years +)
• BSc/MSc in accounting, finance business, or relevant field
• Technology - conceptual understanding of technology foundations
• Experience as a Budget Analyst for Technology department (3 years+)
• Knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
• Excellent mathematical ability with analytical and quantitative skills
• Detail oriented
• Data manipulation and interpretation skills
• Experience in creating impactful PowerPoint presentations
• Concise writing skills

The successful candidate will be responsible for overseeing the department's expense budget, improving variance commentary/analysis, creating transparency over expenditure costs, and collaborating with the Financial Technology Reporting department.
