Are you passionate about working with young people and creating a supportive, inclusive environment in Suffolk?

Our school is a thriving boarding school in Suffolk, is seeking a dedicated Boarding Assistant to join our team from 21st February - 5th April 2025.

About the Role:
As a Boarding Assistant, you'll play a key role in ensuring the wellbeing, safety, and integration of our boarders, including students participating in short-term international programs. This residential position provides an exciting opportunity to contribute to both the Boarding Team and Short Courses Department.

Key Responsibilities as a Boarding Assistant in Suffolk:

  • Provide pastoral care and supervision, ensuring a welcoming and supportive environment for all students in Suffolk.
  • Oversee daily routines, including wakeups, bedtimes, and mealtimes.
  • Plan and lead evening activities and supervise full-day weekend trips to destinations such as Harry Potter World and London museums.
  • Support students' academic prep sessions and assist with personal organisation.
  • Ensure adherence to safeguarding and health and safety policies.
  • Act as a positive role model, fostering a sense of community and inclusion.

Working Hours and Flexibility:

  • Daily shifts: 7:00am - 9:00am and 4:50pm - 10:00pm on assigned days.
  • One full day off per week and one full weekend off every three weeks.
  • On-call duty to respond to emergencies during overnight stays.
  • Saturdays include full-day trip supervision, and Sundays are activity days when on duty.

Skills and Experience:

  • Experience working with young people in a pastoral or supervisory role.
  • Caring and approachable attitude with excellent interpersonal skills.
  • Flexible working patterns, including evenings and weekends.
