Job Description

We are currently looking for an experienced AWS Cloud Engineer with a strong background in networking and network security to join our IT department. The ideal candidate will be responsible for designing, implementing, and maintaining the infrastructure and services within AWS while ensuring high levels of performance, availability, and security.

Responsibilities:

  • Work within an enterprise cloud network to design and deploy network security controls to micro-segment applications.
  • Implement and maintain cloud solutions in accordance with best practices and company security policies.
  • Implement robust security measures, including Security Groups, network ACLs, EKS
  • Collaborate with development teams to integrate security controls into CI/CD pipelines and automated deployment processes.
  • Monitor and troubleshoot network performance issues and provide solutions to ensure optimal performance and reliability.
  • Conduct regular security audits to identify vulnerabilities and apply required patches or updates.
  • Stay up-to-date with emerging cloud technologies and recommend improvements to the infrastructure.
  • Provide technical guidance and support to other team members.
  • Document network and security configurations and procedures.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, IT, or a related field, or equivalent experience.
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in AWS cloud services, networking, and security.
  • Strong understanding of core AWS services such as EC2, S3, EKS, RDS, ELB, Route 53, CloudFront, and more.
  • Hands-on experience with AWS networking services such as VPC, Direct Connect, Route 53, and API Gateway.
  • Proficiency in implementing and managing security and compliance frameworks in an AWS environment.
  • Experience with automation and Scripting using tools like Terraform, CloudFormation, Ansible, or similar.
  • Familiarity with analysing & troubleshooting network traffic using VPC Flow Logs, Athena and other monitoring tools.
  • Hands-on experience building observability solutions to monitor and report on network traffic and network security controls.
  • Relevant AWS certifications (eg, AWS Certified Solutions Architect, AWS Certified Security - Specialty) are highly preferred.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills and the ability to work under pressure.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills.
